Cowboy Notes: Requires new electronics products to be registered to DEC with recycling information. The Retail Council of New York supports this bill and it's a measure that is hard to argue against -- as there aren't that many high tech computer manufacturers in New York -- and people will still buy computers, even if they are a little bit more expensive. 58

Cowboy Notes: This bill would set up a take back program for computers from manufacturers to facilitate recycling, rather then dump these sometimes quite toxic but quickly disposed of machines in the landfill. The Retail Council of New York supports this bill and it's a measure that is hard to argue against -- as there aren't that many high tech computer manufacturers in New York -- and people will still buy computers, even if they are a little bit more expensive. 58

Cowboy Notes: Requires parks, stores, and other concessions to provide recycling containers. It's a pain when they don't, and you don't want to throw bottles away. It's necessary legislation, but dead on arrival in the Senate. The Senate won't touch this I suspect. 58
