No Ammo Without a Firearms License (A.6127)

Legislative Description: Prohibits the sale of handgun ammunition to any person unless the person can produce proof of a firearm license; defines "ammunition"; imposes a civil penalty of between $500 and $1,000 for each violation. Add Art 39-EE SS899-t - 899-v, Gen Bus L.

Sponsorship: PRETLOW, LAFAYETTE, HOOPER, GOTTFRIED, GANTT, GREENE, DINOWITZ. Multi:MLTSPNSR Aubry, Brennan, Canestrari, Clark, Galef, Gordon D, Hoyt, Jacobs, John, Mayersohn, Pheffer, Seminerio, Weinstein, Weisenberg, Wright

Cowboy Notes: Requires a person show proof before buying ammunition for a firearm. Sounds like a reasonable bill, except not everybody carries their permit on them all the time -- and without a gun, ammo is pretty useless, except maybe for the excitement of throwing in a fire and hearing it explode. No Senate sponsor. 106
