Horses are probably the biggest form of agriculture in our country. More people have horses then any other large livestock, and more people connected with the land by their horse that they might only take out of the pasture a few times a year.
People love their horses, and nearly every kid dreams of owning one at some point in their lives. If any form of agriculture is seeing a growth it's service for horse owners from saddle and tack sales to hay to keep the horses fed.
Anybody whose ever gotten near a horse is struck by the fact that they are such big and beautiful animals. They are pretty smart are being used for many unique uses besides an enjoyable recreation ride through the woods.
They are quiet compared to our trucks and quads, and while they tear up trails they are permitted a lot of places where you wouldn't even think of taking your truck. Horses give you a ride pretty high up and an incredible view you would not otherwise get of the woods.
Someday maybe I'll own some of my own horses. I don't know, but I really like these animals.
