Get Tough on Litter

Let me go on the record for supporting capital punishment (i.e. death) for people who litter. That sounds kind of harsh, sorta like Hammurabi's code.

I view littering as a terrible thing, a moral failure. It's ugly. It reduces quality of life, it hurts people and the environment. It is a total disregard for other people and the environment.

The fact is we need better enforcement on littering and stiff penalties. If we can send people to prison for years, for the possessing certain drugs (for there own use—harming only themselves), we should be far more tougher on crimes like littering.

They are cracking down on seatbelt usage. I say that's silly—let people make their own choices—and pay the consequences or reap the benefits. Assuming they take liability for the associated costs, they should be able to make that choice. But littering is totally different. It not only effects them, it effects the community at large.

Why must some people be such dimwits and litter? Is it that hard to hold on to their rubbish, and take it for proper disposal?

Do people have any clue what a beautiful world they are destroying? Damn them.
