Giving Thanks

There are many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. One is the relative prosperty we all live in compared to people just down the street, to say nothing of those a world away from us. We live with a great deal of freedom, and without a great deal of fear.

On Thanksgiving we will be filling our bellies with turkey. The day after Thanksgiving, many of us will be out purchasing more material stuff. We can afford that. We are able to do whatever we want on Thanksgiving within reason without fear of government reprisal. And we don't particularly worry about being robbed or injured on Thankgiving.

Those things seem so simple and elementary, but you and I are relatively unique. There are a lot of people this holiday season who struggle to make ends meet, and live in fear of either the government or the evils of crime. Affluence is really nice to have, and while we might not have as much as some people, we still are really quite comfortable and quite happy.

So this Thankgiving take a few minutes and think. Ask yourself about your blessings, and pray to god and let him know how much you thank him for all that he has blessed you with having.
