Graduation

Tomorrow is my graduation from college at Plattsburgh State. I will be recieving my diploma holder tomorrow, after walking across the stage and shaking the hands of the college president. A few weeks later I will be mailed my diploma for a B.A. in Political Science.

It took six years to get this degree. In this process I attended four different colleges, worked dozens of different jobs, and probably wrote millions of words. I thought a lot and spent a lot of time in the woods. I grew and I changed.

In many ways my hard work paid off. I received a 3.76 grade point average and joined Pi Sigma Alpha. I would had been eligible to graduate Magna Cum Laude had I completed 57 credits at Plattsburgh State rather then 51 credits. Still, regardless their is no question I was a good student through out college and receiving an award from the Speaker of the Assembly for my research paper proves that.

I am now off to the real world as they say. It's kind of strange to think I will walk over the stage tomorrow, and after that be done with college. I might go back to Law School in a few years, but not right away. All that time working for a degree, and now it seems I have little left to work for now that it's in my hands.

I should be happy. It's a time to start my life. Still, I look out into a sea of unknowns and a world that I am unfamiliar with to the largest degree. So much of myself and the world right now is little more then a clay block waiting to be sculpted. When I move out in the next few weeks, I will truly be on my own to become my own person.

But for now, I think I will just enjoy the nice weather up here in Burlington and look forward to going back to Plattsburgh one more time for academic reasons. The next time I come back it will solely be for play, that is when I find time in the upcoming years.
