A Few Closing Thoughts

2007 will as of tonight officially come to an end. Tomorrow will be the first day of the new year as we move towards 2008, the eighth year of the century. It’s not only a turning point on the calender, it’s also a time to reflect on our changing world.

Nobody really knows what 2008 will bring. Yet, I have great hope for the first year that I am finally on my own, a college graduate with a good paying job and big dreams. It’s often difficult to even see much beyond tomorrow, yet I must continue to be focused on the future. Next year will define me more then any other previous year.

I realize it will be the simple things that are most important. The people I meet and network with. The food I choose to eat. The products I choose to buy. The books I choose to read. The ideas I choose to embrace. None of these decisions will be earth shattering, but all will lead me down either a road to being a better person or accepting what so often is the status quo in our society.

Rituals can be hard to break. That’s why it’s so important to do it right in the next year.
