Christmas List 2006

It has become a tradition over here at Cowboy to create a Christmas list of things that are often bigger then we are as individuals. It usually is a list of non-material things that we can inspire towards in the upcoming year. In keeping with the past four years of NYC:

No 1 – Fulfilling the Promise

We have now elected a progressive leadership in our great state of New York and in Washington DC. We have Kirsten Gillibrand as our Congresswomen along with many other great representatives in the Hudson Valley from Mike McNulty to Maurice Hinchey to John Hall. These people represent our future.

We need these men and women to do great things now that they are in Washington. We need to bring the troops home and focus on the problems that face us everyday as citizens. We can no longer afford to shirk from the great problems our society faces, and instead work with our leaders to make our society truly a great society.

No 2 – Change

Become better individuals. Ask ourselves how we can do better and not be afraid to embrace the new age that we are going towards in our country. Realize that the only thing truly constant in our world is change itself. Do not be resistant for change but embrace it.

No 3 – Respect Eternal Truths

One the keys in building a truly great society is respecting the eternal truths that define man and nature. While we must be careful not to restrict ourselves to outmoded notion and always be questioning and embracing change, we must also realize there are limits to our society.

Conclusions

There is a lot to look forward towards in the upcoming year. Let's hope man can do better in the next year, and that we get these Christmas wishes we all want so dearly.
