East Berne Overlook

There is an overview from one of the small hills, behind Thatcher Park, that has one of my favorite views around. It's not fancy, it's just a hillside, alongside of the Long Path, that overlooks East Berne and areas around it.

I've written about this area before, it seems to have it's own little character to it. I guess to the casual observer, it's just more open countryside, dotted by farms and houses, with open fields, and a few backroads running between it.

It kind of reminds me of New England in many ways. Then again, I guess you could say that about a lot of this part of upstate New York. Yet it has it's own New York feeling to it.

New York is definatly the empire state. It's high taxes go to prove it, and it's excellent services, including it's parks. New York is like a cute puppy, who can't love it?

You look down in the valley, and half to wonder what all those people are thinking, and what they are doing. Farm fields, a gravel pit, Thomason's Lake, trees, houses, roads, and people doing thousands of different things.

In the distance you can see Cole Hill, along with several other hills. The rolling landscape always provides a lot of different things to look at.
