Fall 2005: That Wasn't

Most years we have lot of beautiful colors. That is the nrom in upstate New York, and in the Northern Adirondakcs it's suppost tobe especially nice. I have a room that overlooks the Saranac River and Lake Champlains and the colors have been downright terrible.

Global warming is partially to blame. Warming tempetures has made a summers just a little bit longer, and taken away the normally cool nigths that make up fall. The rains seem just to be a fluke, but it seems that over two weeks of rain have made there have been no days to get out and enjoy the colors.

Every day it seems like I am running from building to building or to my truck, tryting to keep from getting wet. The Saranac River, rapdily filling up witnesses the rain we have had for over a week now. They are promising even more rain in the future.

I don't expect snow anytime soon. Yet, it seems that the leaves came and went too quickly and I didn't get a chance to take any pictures. Let's hope the weather is better next year for the fall.
