National ID cards are one of the worst ideas to come out of government in decades. I don't want to be another faceless, nameless person, that the has prove his worthiness by a piece of paper. National IDs are a system devised by Nazis to track jews. Doesn't that give them enough clout to be evil?
I hate having to carry ID around all the time right now anyways. I am a person, I have a name, and if you don't know me personally, and don't believe me, well then screw you. National ID cards won't prevent terrorism, but they will reduce privacy. You want to buy grocessories—show your stupid ID card. Or buy a bus ticket.
We already have enough IDs. It's called driver licenses. We don't need any more. What ever happened to American federalism? States should be indepent from each other. How would a silly card prevent terrorism? It wouldn't. Haven't you heard of stolen and forged IDs...
