NO to Impeachment

Some liberal commentators would like to see President George W Bush impeached. They claim he has violated our consitution, trambled on our rights, and ruled without respect to the laws that make up our country. I would tend to disagree.

It is the President's progative to decide how best to uphold the consitution along with that of the Supreme Court and the Congress. If either branch is unhappy with his acts, they can check his power.

If there was an example of a clear abuse of power that could be made into a judical issue, the courts would be quick to strike it down. If Congress was unhappy they could pass a law and override his veto to rein him in. The reality is that the vast majority of the American public is relatively happy with his actions, even if they aren't crazy about his policy choices

It makes absolutely no sense to impeach Bush. It would be a waste of time and resources. It would help undermine democracy, by setting the precident that says that dually elected presidents are subject to recall anytime they are not like. And it would be little more then just a tit-for-tat over the frivolous Clinton impeachment.
