Fred LeBrun Says Judges Should Get A Pay Hike. While there has been a lot of talk of giving judges a pay hike, most of that has stalled with legislator's demand that they also get a pay hike. And to boot, everybody is really well paid in the judiciary and legislature—at least compared to most other jobs.
Judges and legislators say that they could get better pay in the private sector with their so-called skills or political connections. Then couldn't we all, by working in some job that we'd rather not work in. Why not give us all a pay raise while we are at it?
At any rate, public servants who are legislators or judges receive some of the best pay around for public servants. Neither is particularly underpaid, even if they aren't as paid as they could be compared to others.
I don't seem to understand how the judicary is reform minded in LeBrun's mind but not the legislature. Since when has the judicary passed an innovative new policy into law? P'Link
State Senate Democrats Investigates Sub-prime Lending. It looks like some of the members of the Senate Minority have opened a rather pointless investigation on how banks are ripping off ignorant poor people with adjustable rate mortigates and the alike. P'Link
Did You Really Threaten Mr. Tedisco? Watch below and find out:
If you haven't seen the LCA Spitzer Roost that he made with his own money, it's great fun—and done by Jeramey Segiel that made all of his other great TV commercials. P'Link
Assembly Asks Tough Questions of Empire Zones. It looks like many members of the Assembly were quite critical of the Empire Zone program, in a recent hearing where members aired their concerns about the program. P'Link
