New Assembly Committee Chairs. Several members were promoted to being committee chairs late last evening:
Aging - Jeffrey Dinowitz
Alcoholism and Drug Abuse - Felix Ortiz
Insurance - Joseph Morelle
Oversight, Analysis and Investigation - Joan Millman
Tourism - Steve Englebright
Veterans Affairs - Adriano Espaillat
Chair, Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force - Carmen Arroyo
Most of those changes are not surprising, although many of us will miss Joe Morelle as the Chair of Tourism. While he never got either one of his many ATV bills passed through both houses, he did support the cause for a long time—and gave a voice to a body that might not otherwise been heard in the legislature.
On Wednesday, his ATV Study Bill was advanced out of Tourism to W/M. P'Link
