Crime Rate Down in New York Again. Well actually for the kind of crime that really bothers people—the violent kind, it's actually back up but it gives our Governor one more thing to brag about for his Presidential ambitions.

The good news is while you may be mugged walking the streets of Albany, it's a lot less likely that your going to overstay your parking meter or have to deal with people who double park. That's great for all of us so afraid of criminals running our world. P'Link

Checks to Voters Coming Soon. The STAR Rebate Checks that are going out to a large number of residents in New York State will be coming out in the next few weeks, only a couple of weeks from the election, proudly sent to you, the taxpayer, from the nice people at Joe, Shelly, and Company. P'Link

Pataki Orders Reprinting of Rebate Checks. It looks like our fine state is tossing 1 million rebate checks, on grounds that Pataki didn't get credit on them and ordering them re-printed. Talk about a waste of state money and perfectly good paper. P'Link

Animal Rights People Upset At Catskill Game Farm Auction. As the game farm is a closing down, it seems that there method of getting rid of the animals has spurred some controversy with little to no checks on whose getting the extotic animals they are selling off. P'Link

Stu Broady Re-elected to Chair DRC. It looks like Stu Broady is going to be chair of the Democratic Rural Caucus for another year. It should be interesting to watch his preformance, particularly as the DRC evolves and grows in importance as many more democrats are elected into office in upstate New York. P'Link
