Those jobs at the proposed Sema-Tech in Albany must pretty darn well paying, at least the amount the state is planning to pay for them. The state is agreeing to give that big wealthy chip manufacturer $600 million for 450 jobs (hiring in staters or out of staters) over 7 years.
We over here a cowboy had to just shake out collective heads. Economic development is a good thing, if it's done in a sensible way. It doesn't need to be a one size fits all, high tech or else style development that is pushed by some in New York Government.
If you were hoping to go to a restaurant and get some trans fat in our fine county, then your out of luck with the new county law that passed earlier this week.
If New York City did it, why not Albany County? I guess they can cook without trans fat, and that trans fats are really unhealthy for you or something like that. Of course, your asking the 6'6", 260 lbs burly cowboy about that.
It seems as though there are continuing rumors that Andy Cuomo might consider running for Governor in 2010 with his recreation of a campaign committee to go along with his existing AG campaign committee.
