Peebles Island and Pine Bush. Hiked around Peebles Island State Park, on parimeter trail with dad. A bit muddy out. Kind of an interesting 'urban'/industrial area surrounding, end of Mohawk River (were it dumps into the Hudson). A bit muddy out there, although not bad with my boots on.
Noticed several junked cars in the woods in the area—one was a Chevy Station Wagon, and the other I couldn't really identify. The beavers have been very active in this area, as of recent and in the past—you could see lots of trees that had been chewed on—although I didn't see the beaver.
Walked around/explored old Lock and new Lock up in Waterford.
Went to the Pine Bush Bike Trail, and walked it to the end—kind of disappointed that it didn't go all the way around either lakes. It ends up on Rapp Road, right nearby the infamous Rapp Road Landfill (of course ;). In the western section of Renselear Lake, the swampy water had an interesting greenish-brown color—I wonder from what—I noticed a bunch of 55 gallon drums dumped in this area (with other trash)—I only can wonder what they really contain.Noticed several junked cars in the woods in the area—one was a Chevy Station Wagon, and the other I couldn't really identify. The beavers have been very active in this area, as of recent. P'Link
