Went for a walk around Hyuck Preserve. It was a beautiful spring day, and thanks to our recent dry weather, I could walk throughout the often swampy preserve without problems.
Walked from falls up and around the lower lake. Passed some people walking dogs. It is amazing how nice the weather is for this early in the spring. Lost the trail, ended up on Route 357 outside Renselearville. Walked a bit down into the town of Renselearville.
Spent a night in my pickup up at Partridge Run, at a different area then I've ever stayed before. I often try to vary my area to minimize my impact. My goal everytime I camp is to leave the area just a little bit cleaner then when I left it.
It was a cold night, but I had a nice little fire, which i sat out and watched the sunset. I was on a great hill looking west, giving a great view of the sunset. I love being up here.
The dog was cold during the night, sleeping under the cap. The stars were fantastic, especially while sitting next to the campfire and drinking lots of Corona.
