Camping Out at Renselearville State Forest. While I haven't had a chance to do much camping out up at Renselearville State Forest, I finally got out there last night. It was quite nice being up there in the wilds of the forest.
Of course, now I am less excited about going up there. A number of the sites have closed down or require a permit to have. There also is the threat or at least former threat of Camp Cass that somewhat makes me uneasy—forcing me to think what kind of people might really be up in the woods at night.
Still it was great fun, sitting back and enjoying the night. P'Link
Bike Riding at P Run. Went out for a bike ride today at Partridge Run. Explored a new—at least redone—snowmobile trail behind Fawn Lake. Never knew that trail existed back there, always assumed it was private land up there.
The trail was brand new, wide enough almost for two cars to pass. Plenty of room for two snowmobiles to pass each other at about fast as you dare ride on those trails—ie. no faster then about 40 MPH.
Interesting views of Fawn Lake and a swamp above it that probably helps feed the pond. Also up there was some interesting hilly land that I never knew existed up there.
Broke the derailer and some more spokes of my bike, after hitting a rock. Two spokes were already broken, and it's now clear that I need a new wheel, and probably a new derailer (now). That sucks as it won't be cheap to replace. But I will get it fixed, as biking is still a lot cheaper then the truck. P'Link
