Got My New Bike.

It was a roughly $500 Gary Fisher Nirvana S from Downtube in Albany. It's a really nice bike for the things I need and I sure as hell hope it will last a long time. Got a speedometer computer from K-Mart and installed it.

Rode 14.3 miles last night from my house to Tan Hollow Road, then back to house, to Boomhower Rd, to end of Route 411 in Greene County then back again. It was great to get back out and ride again.

It was a great sunset and I remembered all the great experiences as beautiful country I missed not having a good reliable bike. The hilltowns are so magificent, yet it seems your pretty limited to how far you can go on foot, and the pickup truck not only drinks lots of gas, it also speeds too fast to see much of the beauty.

I look forward to many more rides on this silky smooth bike that makes riding a joy. Being my size—I needed a big and tall bike—it really is comfortable to ride. I guess a real road bike might have been slightly more comfortable, but I like the tougher feel of this hybrid bike.
