Urban Bike Riding. For the past week I've been using my bike more and more for getting around downtown Albany. In the city it's just such a fast way to get around, as distances tend to be so short compared to the long expanses in the country.
It's a real joy to see how much of the city you can see so quickly. I rode up to Citizen Action from the DEC, stopped at the Foodfest, and checked out a lot of the Bike Path. The State Street hill is a lot to climb, but most of Albany is pretty flat.
I can't wait until I get to Plattsburgh for riding my bike. It's superflat up there compared to the mountain country I currently live in. While I won't be giving up my pickup any time soon, it sure beats having to pay so much for the lousey city gas milage I get on my truck. P'Link
